The Melvin G. Bailey Recreation Center is the home of the Westland Parks and Recreation Department. The 30,000 square foot facility offers banquet rooms with a capacity of up to 170 people. We also have smaller meeting rooms that are perfect for seminars, conferences, staff meetings and similar functions that don’t require a large venue.
We offer classes such as karate, gymnastics, cheerleading, martial arts, kickboxing, babysitting, aerobics and more.
Our fitness center features free weights and weight machines as well as treadmills, eliptical machines and stationary bicycles. New for 2009 is the addition of a personal trainer.
